Random Thoughts, May 8th


(1) The sun! This is usually the kind of day that I would quote e.e.cummings on the true blue dream of a sky.
(2) If you live in the Eastern Woodland—as I have most of my life—you always experience the blue sky as something in interplay with leaves and branches.
(3) I haven’t gotten to the part of grieving where i feel like I need to go running. Kind of dreading that part, but I did lose about 20 lbs last time as compensation for the shin splints.
(4) I don’t need a cat. 
(5) Two weeks.

Sometimes it is quite astonishing how happy a red coffee cup you bought six months ago (as a sign of new possibility) or a blue coffee mug that you bought three years ago (on a trip with your Dad) can make you. So don't be too quick to disparage silly, little purchases. 2. 1. Monopoly: the official board game of perdition.  2. Finds that being in positions of leadership exponentially increases ones use of metaphors drawn from sports (and that I am not immune to this practice.) 3. I laugh every time I hear a Canadian say Regina.

Random Thoughts, July 15th

1. Now that I know how easy it is to make a cheese sauce becoming a vegan is going to be very hard. 2. I ain't never, ever, never "going home to Rome" --the way power operated to cover-up of the priest abuse scandal (see the Netflix series "The Keepers" for the most recent reflection on this) mitigates against any theological attraction of "universalism." 3. Whoa! The trailer for Wrinkle in Time! Looks awesome.
